What To Do

Curl up in a ball?

Hide under a rock?

Stay in bed?

Cry all day?

Be sad all the time?

Waste this day?

Waste tomorrow?

No, I refuse.

I will grow.

I will strengthen.

I will fight.

I will love.

I will learn.

I will teach.

I will be me.

I will be the man HE wants me to be.

I will walk to the gates with my head held high…

with a joyful heart…

and with a smile on my face.

Not because I knew no pain, but because I did.

This is beautiful. I’m praying for you and your babies. They are so blessed to have a daddy like you, and-from what I’ve read-a wonderful, beautiful, mother like Lindsay.

    God bless you, Gabe.
And equip you…with all you need each day to bring Him glory.
A blessed 2012 to you and your sons.
You are in my prayers, Lisa

This week I heard a song that made me think of your and your boys. It talked about walking through a difficult fight, and feeling like you have been bruised….but the sun will rise, and it will be alright. (The Sun Will Rise-Kelly Clarkson)) I’m sure you would never choose this pain, but in choosing to let God lead you through it, I really believe you will again feel his sunlight in your life. He is faithful…

This message is dead-on. It is heartbreaking and a bit frustrating to see others fall apart at the seams when a tragedy strikes. Unable to move past the pain, they are left with a void in their hearts that cannot be filled, and they question “Why?”….it’s so obvious that the reason is their lack of connection with God…Having Him in our hearts and our lives is just as important for the now as for the after…if we do not have the strength and the love that He wants to give us, then we are lost, as is evident everyday as we look around us. You know more than anyone how hard this journey has been for you, but having the Peace in your heart to recognize the true meaning behind your struggles, and having the ability to pick yourself up again and live for your children and yourself is a true testament to the love of God working through you. God bless you and your family and Happy New Year!!

I wish there were a perfect thing I could say to help you or make you feel better in some way.. All I know is that staying strong, fighting your way through and trusting God are the best things that you can do. Apply your energy to something you are very passionate about (your children, I am assuming) and do it full force.. it will help to release as much endorphins as possible and look up, not down. May the New Year bring you guys many blessings! Take care, Gabe.

Wow! I came across your blog on Kelly’s Korner prayer request. I am so sorry for your lose. You are a faithful servant of God’s. You lose and Jason’s story brought me to tears. God bless you and your boys! I will add you to my prayer list. FYI….I went to school in Lubbock. Are you a Red Raider?

    • Gabe

Thank you Sandi, God has been faithful to me and my family, so I will continue to go where he guides me. I will serve him until my time to be judged and beyond.

Yes, I am a Red Raider along with my sweet Lindsay. We were there between 2000 and 2005. We had really great years there.

Thank you for adding us to your prayer request. I am glad you find this to speak to you.
